Rumor has it AT&T may be looking to relieve the “Airport Network.”

According to the Wall Street Journal, CNN is expected to miss revenue targets by a staggering $100-120 million this year. The network was expected to bring in ad revenues just under $800 million for 2020.

Fox Business’ Charles Gasparino appeared in Tucker Carlson Tonight and pointed out that the network was not only struggling to hit revenue targets. He claimed CNN would lose a segment of their audience if Biden wins.

“CNN [would] not have Donald Trump to kick around anymore, and their ratings will take a hit,” said Gasparino.

Gasparino claims that the rumor is true. He claims AT&T is a “screwed up company,” and like several media outlets, CNN “may have had its peak, hating Trump.” In the interim, AT&T has debts amounting to $150 billion. Selling the network would allow the parent company to decrease the debt, and handover the embarrassment of running CNN to a new owner.

Elliot Advisors, activist investors who own 1.2% equity interest in AT&T, purportedly started pushing the parent company to strip CNN in August.

Potential buyers of the network include ViacomCBS and Walt Disney’s ABC. However, Gasparino previously reported heavy speculation on Wall Street about Jeff Bezos, Amazon.com founder, and Washington Post owner, showing interest in buying CNN

From the Trump-era, CNN is among those who suffer the worst, leading to several reporting blunders.

· About ten days before President Trump’s inauguration, the network published the now-heavily-discredited Steele Dossier, with non-existent “pee tapes” discussed 77 times in only a week.

·       Anthony “10-day” Scaramucci was reported in June 2017 to be involved in a Russian hedge fund, and allegedly under a Senate investigation. The story was entirely false, and the three reporters later left the network.

· Trump’s campaign was reported to have received a WikiLeaks email with a “decryption key and website address for hacked WikiLeaks documents.” The story was aired with the chyron, “Emails Reveal Effort to Give Trump Campaign Wikileaks Documents.” However, the email apparently went out on September 14, 2016, which is long after the WikiLeaks information. CNN issued a correction, yet no one stepped down to take the blame as their news integrity crash.

· An “exclusive bombshell” allegedly featuring Michael Cohen was reported in July 2018. Cohen would apparently tell the feds that Trump knew of the infamous meeting at the Trump Tower before it took place. Cohen would never do such a thing. As it turns out, the source of the claim was Cohen’s lawyer, who is loyal to the Clintons.

· In a February report. President Trump allegedly called the coronavirus a hoax. In reality, he meant the hoax as the media reporting him not taking the coronavirus seriously.

CNN has committed several out-of-context news, most often exaggerated. It’s not hard to question why they have lost viewership and readership with that kind of reporting.
